No. Thanks to the support of the Port Authority of NY/NJ and our airline partners, our services are completely free to all job seekers.
Do I need to have previous experience in the aviation/transportation industry to be considered for a job?
We place individuals in a wide range of jobs. The employer and the position will dictate if prior experience is required. We encourage you to meet with one of our Account Managers to help determine if you have the qualifications for the position you are seeking. .
Are all of your jobs full time?
Depending on the employer and the job, many open jobs are full time. However there are employers that are looking to hire part time, temporary or per diem. We also have a division called Academy Staffers that fills seasonal or event specific jobs.
Can I apply for a job even if I am not a US citizen?
Yes, you can apply for a job as long as you are eligible to work in the United States.
Do I have to submit to a background check and drug test to work at the airport?
Yes, all jobs on airport require you to submit to a background check and drug test. CAO would prepare you for this and all next steps in your interview, hire and onboarding process.
If I am placed in a job, will I continue to stay in touch with CAO?
We hope so! We will reach out periodically to check in and see how the job is going, and are available if any needs arise. We also encourage you to let us know where you are in your job search.
What is the first step in getting a job through CAO?

Yes, CAO offers job seekers career counseling, skills training, and internship opportunities.
Does CAO exist in other cities beyond New York City and Newark?
No, CAO only operates out of this region for now.

No. Thanks to the support of the Port Authority of NY/NJ and our airline partners, there is no fee associated with CAO’s recruitment services.
How does CAO source their candidates?
CAO has a 46 year track record of placing qualified, motivated candidates at our local airports. During that time, we have developed a strong candidate pipeline from our relationships with local colleges, community based organizations, job training programs, and faith based organizations. The team at CAO then screens candidates based on each individual employers hiring needs and refers the most qualified applicants.
Are there other services CAO offers besides job placement?
Yes, CAO offers it’s employer partners a range of services including: free of low cost space for interviews, meetings, training sessions, or recruitment events at the three area airports. Access to quarterly job fairs at airports. We also have Academy Staffer’s which is a temporary staffing division to support your contingent staffing needs.
Can CAO help me fill a number of different positions at different sites at once?
Absolutely, CAO works with each employer to meet their unique staffing needs. We help fill entry level to management level position at the airports.
Can CAO help me with an urgent staffing need?
Yes, CAO can refer candidates quickly and efficiently if presented with an urgent staffing need.
